Joanna Wezyk was born in Poland in 1966. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow with a Masters Degree. An accomplished painter and illustrator in Poland, she arrived in the United States 12 years ago. This 20th century painter has brought to her canvases the nostalgia and elegance of centures past, using colors reminiscent of the Fauve painters to ignite a blackened background. Her palette creates a luminosity that emerges from darkness.
